Dear Customers,
We all know 2020 was hard, but 2021 is a year of rebuilding. Unfortunately for many industries, rebuilding has been difficult. Many of you have seen the shortages and price increases in products and services over the last year. Sadly, this has taken a toll on the glass industry too.
The production of glass both in the US and worldwide slowed almost to a halt last year. Along with this, the demand has gone up since people have been quarantining in their homes. This has created a “perfect storm” for a worldwide glass shortage. We are doing our best for our customers, but most things are out of our control.
We are getting regular updates from our suppliers on what kinds of glass they do and don’t have in stock. Sadly, the list of specialty glass is running short very quickly. Because sourcing any kind of glass is difficult for our suppliers, they have to raise their prices. This means that we have to also raise ours.
The lead times to get glass from our suppliers has gone from a few days to several weeks. This is because our manufacturers are trying to keep up with demand while trying not to run out of glass before their next shipment arrives.
We know it’s hard to wait, but we thank you for being patient as we navigate these difficult times. Some of our services have had to end because we are unable to get quality materials or materials at all. Right now, we are just focusing on glass whether it be showers, windows, or tabletops. Even while still providing these services we ask for your understanding as we try to find suppliers that will help us provide the best quality product and fast service. We are no longer doing screens, window and door frame repair, new storefront, or window parts.
If you have questions about where to source hardware or services to work on these things feel free to give us a call or come by. We greatly appreciate your support and continued business throughout these hard times. We look forward to getting back to business as usual as soon as possible!
